richmond-fort-boonesborough-state-park-ky117Fall Camper’s Yard Sale Fort Boonesborough State Park Clean out your closets and let your junk or arts and crafts become a fellow camper’s treasure. Set up and sell right on your campsite. A $10.00 set up fee will be charged in addition to the regular camping fee. This event is for registered campers only to sell. The sale is advertised in local newspapers and the general public is invited to shop.

soldierCome early and spend the day learning about 18th century life in Kentucky. This is a living history re-enactment including militia and settlers camps, Native American village, merchants, traders and more. Visit the Transylvania Store for authentic 18th century items and the Park Museum Store. Battle re-enactment is at 2 p.m. each day with a special “night battle” at dusk on Saturday evening. Hammer-in Fort Boonesborough State Park See and Learn about an ancient craft kept alive even to this day! Join a group of Blacksmiths as they gather to demonstrate projects and techniques, trade ideas and information, swap tall tales of the forge and offer hand forged items for sale. Blacksmiths are also invited to bring along their portable forges, start up a fire and join in. Find out the answers to your questions and maybe even try your hand at a simple forging project. This event is free with regular paid admission to the fort.
