The United Way of the Bluegrass 10,000 Hours Show presented by W. Rogers Company is a year-round effort to engage young adults in volunteer service that culminates in a free concert. The only way to gain admission is to volunteer with local nonprofits.
The 10,000 Hours Show’s concert is a unique celebration of service that takes the best parts of “normal” concerts – great bands, great atmosphere, great times – and makes them better – an all-volunteer audience, a community saying thanks and performers who care.
The idea is simple…
Step 1. Register — it’s fast, easy and free.
Step 2. Volunteer a minimum of ten hours at the nonprofit agency of your choice between now and March 31, 2010. (And if you’ve volunteered any time since April 2009, those hours count, too!)
Step 3. Hurry and log your hours online. Only 1,000 tickets to the show will be given away.
Step 4. Rock it out in April 2010 at a free concert featuring Augustana at Buster’s Billiards and Backroom in Lexington.
It really is that simple. 1,000 people volunteering 10 hours — the 10,000 Hours Show.
Because together we rock. More.
